ROLE OVERVIEW

The Trade Purchasing Specialist primary responsibility is identifying trade book demand based on a detailed review of sales opportunities versus existing stock levels at 3PL warehouse and inventory held at trade book publishers.

This requires working closely with the sales organization reviewing customer opportunities. The position is responsible for tracking and keeping inventory on international and domestic purchase orders. They will oversee shipments and communicate with publishers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. You will work alongside the operations, purchasing and logistics team, as well as the warehouses and publishers to accurately create inventory forecasts.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create a plan to purchase inventory annually (budget) and throughout the year (forecast).
  • Manage existing inventory, reserve programs, and titles across multiple systems.
  • Analyze sales data and coordinate buys with internal purchasing team.
  • Coordinate long term forecasts with 20+ publishers on inventory levels and execute on timing of deliveries through the year.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely delivery of shipments for approximately 300 titles annually by communicating with publishers to understanding publisher inventory levels and acceptance need by dates.
  • Act as a liaison between the operations/logistics team, warehouses, and publishers.
  • Create, run, format, and distribute reports on inventory, sales, forecasts, and order quantities.
  • Vendor maintenance and set-up process including changes to new titles and obsolete titles and retail pricing and discounts.

Job requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated problem solving, data analysis, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with purchasing, logistics and supply chain. Book publishing experience a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including advanced experience with Excel.
  • Microsoft Power Bi experience desired
  • Knowledge of Salesforce desired
  • Post-high school education or equivalent business experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience working in supply chain demand planning and vendor management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical mindset, reasoning, analytical, and mathematical ability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • .Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Details:

Location: Remote

Position: Full-time



The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $62,000 however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations.. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
