This role is responsible for cash accounting activities, including, but not limited to, cash flow reporting, bank reconciliations, loan covenant reporting, audit inquiries, and basic banking operations. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with the timely and accurate filing of federal, state and local tax returns for the Great Minds’ companies. This position will also be responsible for special projects as requested.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily cash activities and balances and ensure any unusual items are investigated
  • Prepare daily cash flow reports for senior management and identify and analyze variances
  • Ensure transactions posted to both cash and clearing G/L accounts are reviewed and reconciled in a timely manner
  • Perform bank reconciliations - reconciliation of the bank statement against the G/L and reconciliation of any assigned clearing accounts
  • Interface with the bank directly to clarify adjustments or transactions on the bank statements
  • Administer the disbursement files from various Great Minds’ entities
  • Respond to audit inquiries in a timely manner
  • Prepare covenant reporting
  • Prepare journal entries for review by management
  • Prepare state and local income tax returns and estimated payments for Great Minds
  • Assist with processing of tax returns and estimated payments
  • Assist with estimated tax calculations, cash flow projections and income tax returns
  • Research technical tax issues, compliance issues and tax law changes
  • Keep current on tax law changes by reading daily tax updates and professional publications
  • Perform special projects, research, and other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree majoring in accounting
  • 3-7 years of experience in an accounting, treasury or finance environment
  • Minimum 2 years tax experience
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Current work experience with financial and accounting systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Intacct or similar applications)
  • Knowledge of multi-entity accounting systems
  • Knowledge of financial statements and analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal, analytical, and lateral thinking skills with attention to detail
  • Strong background in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and rapid growth environment
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
