Job Purpose
Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Counsel-Employment will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and Human Resources partners, providing practical, business-focused legal counsel on employment law matters. This is a critical role, balancing business needs while ensuring compliance with evolving labor laws, proactively mitigating risk, and supporting a fair and consistent employee experience across the organization.
Responsibilities
Advise leadership, human resources, and other stakeholders on employment law matters, including hiring, performance management, compensation, accommodations, terminations, and workplace investigations.
Develop and implement scalable policies, processes, and programs that ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
Partner with HR and business teams to proactively identify and address employment law risks, ensuring consistency and fairness in employee-related decisions.
Manage and resolve internal employment-related escalations, investigations, and disputes, collaborating with external counsel as needed.
Provide strategic guidance on employment-related aspects of business initiatives, including M&A due diligence and workforce restructuring.
Track and analyze employment law developments, advising leadership on key risks, trends, and compliance obligations.
Job requirements
Requirements
7+ years of experience practicing employment law in a multi-state environment
Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws
Strong business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels
Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Required Education
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership

The expected base salary range for this position is $152,000-$168,000, however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
