Position Summary
The PD Services Team Manager is responsible for liaising between Great Minds PD Teams, Sales and Operations to meet the clients’ needs for PD and Coaching Services, as well as managing a team of PD Associates who plan and manage the logistics of all Great Minds PD events. The team processes events from start to finish including confirming the location and/or creating a virtual meeting link, communicating all details to the presenters and customer, arranging hotel accommodations and materials for events where needed, and managing the appropriate CRM workflows.


The PD Services Manager is accountable for the team to staff at the right levels; coach and train employees; build or enhance the processes and systems to support this work. At peak times, the manager will be needed to assist with handling customer issues alongside the team members.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Manage full-time (9 FTE) and seasonal employees (2 FTE):
    • Conduct ongoing review of individual performance to provide feedback on how team members can improve performance and service to our clients
    • Represent PD Services internally and facilitate communication for escalated operational issues across teams such as Accounting, Operations, and Sales
    • Create and maintain team-oriented culture
    • Interview and hire staff as needed
    • Conduct employee performance reviews on an annual basis
    • Develop and manage KPI’s
    • Manage team members bandwidth during peak season
  • Build infrastructure needed to support the logistics that support exceptional PD for our customers
    • Identify the need and document SOPs keeping in mind all internal audiences, including the Sales team.
    • Improve internal systems and workflows such as migrating from Smartsheet to Salesforce
    • Create views and needed reports in Salesforce and Smartsheet
  • Work with PD&IS in each content area
    • Understand PD offerings and who will benefit
    • Understand the staffing/scheduling parameters including capacity management
    • Understand the plan for materials and facilities necessary for a successful event
    • Coordinate the launch of new staff offerings

Requirements

  • 3+ years in Professional Development Services or Event Management 2+ years in managing employees
  • Familiar with Salesforce. Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • Experience with tools in Professional Development Services
  • Strong process orientation; detail oriented; decisive; positive attitude; team-oriented; start-up friendly
  • Ability to translate your skills to other employees through mentoring and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Details:

  • Full-time, Exempt
  • This position is based out of our Farmington Hills, MI office

This role can be performed anywhere in the US with the exception of Colorado
