Founded in 2007, Great Minds is a rapidly growing DC-based non-profit operating nationwide that develops world-class curricula for grades PK-12. Our mission is to ensure all students have access to a quality education in the full range of the liberal arts and sciences.

In 2010, Great Minds published the Common Core Curriculum Maps for ELA. The success of the ELA offering was followed by being awarded 3 contracts to develop a Pre K-12 math curriculum for the New York State Education Department.  Great Minds owns this curriculum, which is now widely used throughout the US as Eureka Math.  Great Minds presently employs more than 200 people.
 
Great Minds’ business model has moved from grant and contract solicitation to direct revenue generation over the last 3 years. This model shift has produced consistent 20+% revenue growth year over year, in large part due to the success of Eureka Math. Great Minds recent release of Wit & Wisdom, their K-8 ELA curriculum, has already gained early adoption in the marketplace. Job Description
The Marketing Analyst will play an active role in achieving the organizational mission of Great Minds. Reporting directly to the Digital Acquisition Lead, the Great Minds’ Marketing Analyst will be critical to our marketing team by providing deep insights into the activities and interests of our prospects and customers. This person must have a keen analytical mind and sharp observation skills to identify trends and opportunities through exploratory data analysis. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a pacesetter with an entrepreneurial mindset to uncover the patterns that continue to keep Great Minds ahead. Must be able to translate complex data and communicate that analysis to other team members, so the findings are realized in compelling marketing campaigns. Core responsibilities of the Marketing Analyst:

  • Leverage insights from existing web analytic tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook, Google AdWords, etc.), implement new web analytic solutions to further refine measurement (e.g., Segment.io, Heap, etc.) and share the insights with all other marketing team members.
  • Make recommendations to apply segmentation and targeting to increase the relevance of marketing, in order to increase engagement and attract new prospects.
  • Use observation and analysis to recommend iterative improvements to marketing team members.
  • Design, build and automate reports and dashboards that bring together data from disparate systems and cohesively provide insight into customer acquisition and retention.
  • Document and communicate findings and insights to stakeholders across the company, primarily marketing and sales.  

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with various digital advertising platforms, including but not limited to AdWords, Facebook, and Google Analytics
  • Demonstrative quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • 2+ years experience within data analytics
  • Experience with A/B and statistical significance techniques, such as t-test, ANOVA, correlation, or others
  • Experience in reporting on customer insights and LTV analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against aggressive deadlines
  • Master Degree in Statistics, Marketing Analytics, or other quantitative fields is a plus
  • Knowledge of or prior experience in education is a plus

  • MYSQL a plus
  • Segment.io a plus (or similar event tracking tool)
  • Worked with Salesforce or data from Salesforce
  • Has modelled full marketing funnel
  • Has modelled the buyer journey
  • Can create LTV & CAC models
  • Can extract insights from data and identify patterns
  • Build dashboards from multiple data sources
  • Can do user, persona and usage analysis Can collate and analyze data from primary and secondary sources Support marketing team with GTM forecast and segmentation
  • Worked at a startup where they had to figure out data analysis a big plus – growth hacker mentality
  • Strong written and oral communication / presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Superior analytical skills and resourceful problem solver
  • Self-starter and team player

 

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have demonstrated academic success in his/her undergraduate career.  BA/BS degree required.
