Role Summary:
The Internal Communications Specialist will develop and execute communication programs, plans, and collateral through a variety of internal and external platforms, including social media, to reinforce culture, boost the employee experience, and strengthen the Great Minds employer brand to attract and retain diverse talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage detailed internal communications plans, processes, editorial calendar, and programs that ensure key information is accessible and engages all stakeholders including current, new, and potential employees with the mission, vision, values and brand.
- Further the development of internal communications strategy by implementing new tools, channels, and formats to communicate the right information, at the right time, to the right audience. Evaluate tools and systems to strengthen solutions for information-sharing, self-service, and meaningful connection.
- Handle all existing internal communications activities and channels including emails, newsletters, town halls, announcements, celebrations, Slack, and Intranet. Draft company-wide communications for senior leadership.
- Assist with the ideation and communication of internal efforts and events in support of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
- Collaborate with HR leadership and Marketing in creating and communicating a compelling and attractive employer brand internally and externally. Partner on HR projects and initiatives including onboarding programs, employee surveys, wellness, and wellbeing as well as by developing content for website, social media, events, recruiting platforms etc.
- Develop and deliver external brand programs to support Talent Acquisition in nationwide efforts to effectively communicate the employee value proposition to attract and convert candidates to Great Minds through digital content, social media, websites, and targeted job boards.
- Develop concise and compelling ways to tell the story of Great Minds through content, events, and experiences that help candidates and employees feel connected to the company mission, vision, and values, and that maintain consistency across multiple channels.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Great Minds employer brand across the company, driving employee involvement and engagement as brand champions and advocates.
- Develop and report on internal and external communication KPIs and analytics. Collect and adapt efforts based on employee and market feedback.
Job requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business or HR preferred.
- 3-5 years internal communications and/or employer brand experience required.
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of internal communication strategies and plans as well as managing a variety of communications channels including digital formats, social media, video, and new technologies.
- At least 2 years managing projects and/or programs in a relevant field required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills demonstrated by writing for internal and external communications, PR and/or marketing and turning complex topics into engaging content across various channels.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a track record of building inspiring narratives, developing talking points, and crafting written pieces for senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with a wide variety of internal stakeholders including senior leadership to ideate and deliver on communication strategies.
- Ability to remain flexible and agile in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience with formal change management, large-scale information dissemination and grass roots change efforts preferred.
- Prior experience working on HR-related projects and initiatives preferred.
- Passionate about employee culture and experience.
