Role Overview
The Professional Development Facilitator, Humanities supports Great Minds in its mission to promote effective adoption and implementation of all Humanities curriculum products. The Professional Development Facilitator is responsible for planning and delivering in-person and virtual Great Minds Humanities professional development sessions for partners throughout the United States.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the catalog of Wit & Wisdom and Geodes PD offerings
  • Plan, facilitate, and debrief Wit & Wisdom and Geodes Professional Development Sessions
  • Provide an estimated 150 days per year of on-site and virtual PD support to school districts throughout the United States
  • Support Wit & Wisdom and Geodes by offering office hours for deliberate practice and analyzing PD survey data.
  • Deepen participant understanding of effective implementation of Wit & Wisdom and Geodes
  • Give and receive strength-based feedback about the quality and effectiveness of PD facilitation in order to foster growth and improve practice
  • Provide timely communication to the National Director for Professional Development related to risks, feedback, and other matters relevant to Great Minds and its mission
  • Contribute to the development of a network of advocates for the mission of Great Minds
  • Collaborate within and across teams to provide feedback on the development of facilitator-support resources and professional development sessions
  • Cultivate and maintain a strong and supportive Great Minds culture in all work environments, with an emphasis on trust, collegiality, curiosity, and quality
  • Additional responsibilities may include training and support of PD Managers, facilitators and providing sales support in collaboration with Account Managers

Job requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, or school leader
  • Experience teaching and/or implementing Wit & Wisdom and Geodes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering Wit & Wisdom professional development
  • Substantial understanding of and experience with the implementation of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts
  • Possessing an executive presence with exceptional written and oral communication skills utilized for both internal and external audiences
  • Capacity to look ahead and balance strategic projects and initiatives with tactical day-to-day cadence
