Eureka Math team members are dedicated educators from all over the country.  Working remotely, we engage with colleagues primarily through virtual platforms and email communication.  Curriculum Developers craft new curricular materials, revise existing materials, and develop supplemental resources to support implementation.  Our work is generally project-based and is a mix of collaborative and independent assignments.  In terms of performance, what we value most is high-quality work, commitment, initiative, and effective collaboration and communication.  


What are the qualifications for the position?

The Curriculum Developer has deep mathematics content knowledge in at least one grade level and is committed to continuous development.  Candidates should be comfortable with both giving and receiving feedback, as we regularly use this approach to improve our professional practice. 


We are currently seeking Curriculum Developers to fill one of three roles for a large project.  Below are the minimum and desired qualifications for Curriculum Developer candidates, followed by the key responsibilities for the three project roles. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience teaching or coaching in the middle grades (5-9)
  • Thorough knowledge of the national math standards, including the Progression documents
  • Proficient in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new technologies as needed

 Desired Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Eureka Math
  • Experience teaching multiple grades/math subjects
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced virtual environment


Role Responsibilities


Lesson Writer

  • Using a backwards design approach, writes engaging lessons aligned to an established instructional design framework
  • Ensures lessons address the following as outlined by specialist teams
    • mathematical practices
    • differentiation
    • language development
    • technology enhancements (as applicable)
  • Strategically incorporates pre-identified protocols and routines into lessons to maximize student engagement
  • Reviews the work of others and provides constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Writes blueprints for lesson practice sets
  • Submits requests for fluency exercises to support the lesson

 Assessment Writer

  • Follows a blueprint to write technology-enhanced assessment items
  • Writes assessment items at targeted reading levels with clarity and conciseness
  • Reviews assessment items and provides constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Translates digital assessment items to a paper-based format
  • Writes blueprints for topic and module-level assessments

Practice Writer

  • Writes an intentionally sequenced set of problems reflecting the learning in a lesson from simple to complex
  • Follows a blueprint to write practice problems at targeted reading levels with clarity and conciseness
  • Reviews the work of others and provides constructive feedback to colleagues
  • Writes blueprints for fluency exercises and other practice problem sets that strategically include distributed and interleaved practice
