The Position:

The Director of HR Systems is a newly created position that will report into the CHRO. The role will develop a long-term roadmap for HR technology with a keen focus on automation, delivering clean data and consistent information and user experiences across HR Technology modules. This will include enabling systems to provide dashboard, reports and scorecards that will enable evidence-based decision making across the company. In addition, the role will work on internal and external communications platforms to elevate our employee brand.


  • Collaborate across the human resources team to develop a long term vision for HR systems and technology. Key focus areas:
    • Data – Select, configure and maintain systems that allow clean data across the HR lifecycle for reports, dashboards and scorecards.
    • Automation – Select, configure and maintain systems that digitize and automate existing processes on the HR team.
    • Design – Select, configure and maintain systems that provide a consistent and intuitive design for all users – HR teammates, Great Minds managers, Great Minds employees and Great Minds job applicants.
  • Immediately, focus on the next six to twelve months in transitioning the team from seven disjointed systems into a singular strategy.
  • Optimize the balance between cost, quality and business need.
  • Serve as lead advocate for technology solutions to HR business problems.
  • Drive technology adoption across organization.


  • Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA or related graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in functional HR technology positions with increased scope and responsibility.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to bridge deep HR knowledge with functional technology usage.
  • Deep knowledge of data and how to derive good data, interpret data and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of change management at all levels of an organization.
  • Project management experience

Location: This role can be based in Richmond, VA or Washington, DC.
