Job Purpose

Curriculum Specialist, Engineering will play an active role in achieving the organizational mission of Great Minds through collaboration with the programs team to develop a comprehensive science curriculum and related offerings. This is an exceptional opportunity for a smart, dedicated, and passionate individual to apply his or her skills to support the business growth and mission of Great Minds.


  • Collaborate with content and editorial teams to support the PhD Science approach to engineering during content development
  • Collaborate with content stakeholders to outline engineering lessons, review, and revise content materials as it relates to engineering
  • Use understanding of the NGSS progression of skills in engineering (within module, grade, grade band, program), to participate in the development of an internal progression with guidance from stakeholders
  • Use expertise to inform and implement PhD Science curriculum development guidelines for engineering
  • Develop and maintain a successful engineering process within PhD Science
  • Stay up to date on current research in engineering in middle school
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging professional development curriculum and present at programs, workshops, and institutes offered by Great Minds PBC



  • Deep content knowledge in Science with a Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Engineering or other associated area
  • Preferred five years teaching experience at the middle school level or higher
  • Superior understanding of the engineering design process with demonstrated writing ability (Successful candidates will be required to complete an engineering vetting task)
  • Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards
  • Comfortable with technology and able to learn new applications
