THE ROLE:

The Commissions and Labor Analyst who will focus on calculating and analyzing sales commissions and labor expense for the company. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded top performer who is willing to roll-up their sleeves and be a key contributor in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.


Reporting to the Senior Business Manager, Finance; the Commissions and Labor Analyst will own the sales compensation operations; from setting up the commission plan calculations, maintaining and processing sales data for crediting and commissions in the software product Xactly Incent, to providing monthly accruals and commission payroll to accounting. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, Accounting, Sales Operations, Systems and Sales Management. The Commissions and Labor Analyst will also analyze and forecast compensation and related expenses as well as headcount on a monthly basis.


The ideal candidate will also have experience with revenue recognition, Salesforce.com, systems analysis, Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools and will understand sales compensation plan design. Understanding of data architecture and detailed data mapping and design is a bonus.

Requirements

  • Annually, set up sales data for new compensation plans in Xactly Incent; including testing system updates, configuration changes, calculation accuracy
  • Calculate commissions in Xactly on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and coordinate the payouts with the payroll team
  • Own set-up of sales data in Xactly Incent for new hires, promotion and terminations.
  • Meet monthly and quarterly close deadlines and deliver accruals and commission payroll to accounting
  • Administer draws, MBOs, quarterly bonuses and SPIFF payouts
  • Review and record the commission amortization calculated in Xactly CEA on a monthly basis
  • Calculate and record the bonus accrual on a monthly basis
  • Act as the subject matter expert on commissions to address sales inquiries and partner with Sales Management, Sales Ops, HR and/or Accounting to resolve any issues
  • Calculate monthly, quarterly and annual quota attainment results and produce quota attainment and expense analysis for sales director/leaders
  • Listen to, triage, process and resolve questions from the Sales team and serve as the primary point of contact regarding the calculation of their commissions.
  • Work with and provide data to FP&A analyst for budgeting and forecasting of commissions and pending payouts
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate bonus data and audit the payout for accuracy
  • Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
  • Analyze and forecast all aspects of compensation and headcount

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years previous experience in any of the following: sales compensation, systems analysis, revenue recognition processes or financial analysis
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com required
  • Working knowledge of Xactly a plus
  • Working knowledge of Sage Intacct a plus

  • Extreme attention to detail and passion for accuracy in all reporting and data gathering
  • Commitment to accurate payment calculations and extreme patience in fielding sales inquiries and requests from the sales team
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and with a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Strong excel skill and analytic experience; relational database experience a plus
