Job Purpose

The Finance Business Manager ensures department profitability and identifies problem areas. For each department under the Business Manager’s care, the Business Manager creates budgets, forecasts sales, performs regular analysis to inform the respective department head of opportunities to cut spending or develop ideas for expansion, and manages the overall financial picture.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Strategic Partner to each assigned department’s leadership while representing the Finance team.
• Team with Product Managers to help manage Product Pricing and Margin
• Develop Business Cases for new Product launches
• Maintains records and analyzes the difference between actual operating figures and estimated budgets and corrects variances and issues therein.
• Partner with Accounting to review month end close and accruals
• Coordinate with Finance on annual budget, forecast and monthly variance analysis
• Enhances the financial processes of each assigned department for profitability and revenue growth.
• Reviews operating budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
• Modifies financial plans and budget amounts based on the changes in business plans.
• Develops relationships with key decision makers within assigned departments as a trusted financial resource for all business projects.

• BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years similar experience in FP&A and/or Business Planning
• Excellent cross-group collaboration skills, including the ability to comfortably communicate with senior management
• Advanced Excel skills
• Advanced analytic and reporting skills
• Extensive experience performing variance analysis
• Detail-oriented with attention to accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically experience relaying and presenting financial data to senior management and diverse audiences
